Washington Canal Park

Atelier Ten is supporting the Canal Park Development Association’s mission to develop an engaging core for this area of city-wide and national significance. This net-zero park will offer an ice-skating path, children’s play area, open lawn space, rain garden and full service restaurant within a centrally located pavilion.

Energy intensity studies have shifted the park’s intended program toward less-resource intensive schemes as demonstration of the CPDA’s mission. The team’s analysis has also generated a spirit of community outreach to establish collaborations among adjacent building owners and the park for roof sharing for additional stormwater capture, photovoltaic surface area and wastewater treatment schemes.
